2 c Flour
2 ts Baking powder
1 pn Salt
1 pn Cayenne Pepper
1 c Grated cheddar
1 c Milk
Extra cheese

Cheese Scones – Churchill Preparation

Sift the dry ingredients. Stir in the cheese. Make a well in the centre and stir in the milk with a knife. Mix lightly. Turn onto a floured board and pat out into a rectangle. Cut into squares. Top each with a thin slice of cheese. Bake at 450 for 10-12 minutes. NOW for the question – how do YOU pronouce scone? Here (NZ) it rhymes with on, rather than with stone. However, I have a friend from Connecticut who would pronounce it to rhyme with scorn. She”s the one who introduces my husband (Don) and I in such a way that people call him Pat and me Dawn.
