Cooking Ingredients for Brazil Nut Bars Recipe

1/2 c Butter; softened
1 c All-purpose flour
1/2 ts Salt
1-1/4 c Brown sugar; packed
2 Eggs
1-1/2 c Brazil nuts; minced
1/2 c Sweetened coconut flakes
1 ts Vanilla extract
6 oz Semisweet chocolate
1/4 c Corn syrup
1 tb Water

Brazil Nut Bars Preparation

Preheat oven to 375 F. Bottom layer: Mix 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt and blend with 1/2 cup butter. Press into 9 pan. Bake in oven for 10 minutes. Second layer: Combine 3/4 cup brown sugar, 2 eggs, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 cup of the brazil nuts, 1/2 cup coconut, 1 teaspoon vanilla and spread over bottom layer. Bake for 30 minutes or a little longer. Cool in pan. Top layer: Melt chocolate over hot water, stir in corn syrup and water. Spread on top and sprinkle with rest of nuts.
